False Start...
Well, that was interesting... as per Mark Lewis Francis in the Commonwealth Games 100 metres yesterday, I didn't get to make it to the start line of my 2nd chemo session today.
First thing they do before every chemo session is a blood test, to check white / red cell and platelet levels. Seems my white cell 'neutrophil' levels were low, which means that the chemo has been delayed 2-weeks. Still had the canula inserted, had to wait around for 4 hours, and even ordered my lunch - before being sent home having achieved nothing. Very frustrating.
I now need to have an injection every day for 5 days (which Colette will administer!), to bring things back on track. She got to administer the first one in the hospital (and very painless it was too!), and promptly got offered a job...
Back to hospital next week to see if everything is back on track, and then hopefully the chemo begins again on 5th April.
Bye for now,
John

Hey mate, I’ve been reading your blog for last couple of weeks. I hope you’re not feeling too crap right now…in view of your “statto” status I was expecting far more in the way of dosages and times taken etc.
At last I’ve found another Flora fan!
If you can let me know your address I’ve got a couple of caps you might want…
Keep your spirits up, mate.
Your friend,
Brian
