This week saw session 9 of the scheduled 12. Went quite well, and even finished a little earlier than usual which was a nice change, as I got to leave hospital around 3:30pm and miss most of the rush hour traffic.
Overall, I seem to be getting more tired. This is quite normal, as the chemo has a cumulative effect. No 'severe' impacts, just finding it more difficult to sleep (causing more tiredness!), and walking up stairs seems to be generating a little more fatigue than you would like!
Last session should be around Tuesday 15th August, and I would hope in the weeks following this (without the fortnightly top-up!) I can start to feel a bit stronger (and do some exercise to get rid of the weight I've put on!!).
Was really inspired by David Walliams and his incredible channel swim - in the top 50 fastest times ever. Great to see a 'celeb' achieve a true 'challenge', having obviously committed to the cause / training, in an age where Big Brother is considered tough...
Livestrong,
John

Am so sorry to hear the news. Easy Rider, Waqas and I are all thinking of you and wishing for a speedy, like your 1/2 marathon times recovery. It is good to read your comments and updates. I to was impressed by the Little Britain actors time crossing the channel in 10 and a half hours for sport relief. My running is still an every day occurrence with a few races under my belt this summer. Have still not made that transition (if you pardon the pun) to Triathlon yet, but who knows just running can become tiresome. Again i wish you all the best and if you want to sell me the benefits of a swim + bike ride + run then email me on ian_taylor@westlb.com.
Hey John, back getting involved in the hiring process eh? now that's what i'm talking about! haha! great to hear (from Rob and co) that the recovery is on track and i also hear you're coming back to work soon which is awesome! looking forward to seeing you at some stage soon mate - let me know when you're next in the office and we'll try and grab 5. Cheers - Rodney
Hi John
All positive stuff I'm delighted to say. Less than a month to go now so the end is in sight and it sounds as though you have half an eye on the Channel swim yourself!!
Funny how peoples minds work - I told the Mrs who is a very good swimmer that David Walliams was in the top 50 fastest times and she said he'd had a favourable tide. I dont know, some peoples competitive streaks can go a bit far !!
Anyhoo, I've pencilled you in for the West London Hill Climb in August run by West Drayton MBC so you'd better shed the pounds before then!!
Cheers for now
Paul
Hi John
Being out of the loop for the last 6 months, I only learnt this week what you have been up to in the last few months. I have read every single diary note and am amazed at the positive attitude you have - but the cliched 'that which doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger' line looks like it can be applied to you.
Great to hear that you are doing well and I shall keep my fingers crossed that is continues that way.
Take it easy.
Best wishes
Jessica Penney (Aspire)
P.S. You aren't ginger!!
