Progress?
Well, I managed get back into some sort of training 'routine' during September. Not doing much, but trying to do something most days. Swimming and Cycling are progressing ok - I seem to be getting better every single session, particularly the swimming. Running is proving much more difficult, and I can still only manage 10 mins at a time. Oh for the days of 'easy' 2 hour runs!
Surprisingly (to me), I haven't really lost much weight yet, though I feel a lot better and have certainly toned up a little. I missed my target of 78kg (I was 79kg at the end of the September), though when at the hospital last, I did bump into the pharmacist who said that it's quite common for the weight gain due to chemo & related drugs to 'stick' for several months. So, while I'm getting the metabolism going, I'm not really seeing the benefit (in weight loss) just yet. Give it time!
That said, I'm going to set my October month end target at 77kg, and this time I expect to (at least) meet it..!
I started back at work on 21st September, initially on a 'rehab' programme of 2/3/3/4/4 days per week. Going well so far!
More soon,
John
